The values shown are typical of current production. Some are controlled in the manufacturing process, while others are not. All of them may vary within tolerable ranges.
An inhibited gear lubricant designed for API Service Classification “GL-4”. These gear oils are blended from highly refined base stocks and additives to promote reduced gear wear, impede rust and corrosion, and provide anti-wear characteristics.
Applications
Recommended for manual transmissions in passenger cars, trucks, and those applications where a lubricant having load-carrying capacities greater than those that will satisfy API GL-1 service, but below the requirements of API GL-5 service. GL-4 designates the type of service characteristic of spiral-bevel and hypoid gears in automotive axles operated under moderate speeds and loads.
